Kady Cowan, Stewardship Group

Kady leads the Energy Business Partnerships team at the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) in Ontario. Previously, Kady was Director of Environmental Sustainability Solutions at Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina one of the largest public, not-for-profit hospital systems in the U.S. She also served as a Sustainability Leader at University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto for almost a decade.  Kady practices system science to transform organizational culture, making pro-environmental behaviours easy in large complex work settings. Through participatory and collaborative techniques Kady creates the conditions for staff and executive engagement, positive disruption and simple solutions to emerge and persist for the long-term. Protecting environmental and human health, as well as conservation of natural and economic resources are the outcomes of her programs. She is currently focused on a game changing framework that embraces the complexity of human behaviour and social decision making to complement traditional energy management practice for commercial and institutional organizations.
